GENERAL
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AIR
TRANSPORTATION: The airlines concerned are not
to be held responsible for any act, ommission or event during
the time passengers are not onboard their aircraft. The
passenger tickets in use by the airline, when issued, shall
constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the
purchaser of these tours/tickets and/or the passenger. The
airfares are subject to change without ntice. RAMA TOURS
recommends to buy insurance.
TIPS
& TAXES: Our price includes tips and taxes.
Any other tips to the local guides and drivers are left
to your discretion.
DEPARTURE
TAXES: U.S., Canada, India and Nepal departure
taxes are the responsibility of the passengers. In the U.S.
and Canada, they are collected in advance at the time of
issuing a ticket whereas in India and Nepal they are collected
by airport authorities or the airlines at the time of return
journey.
BAGGAGE
ALLOWANCE: Two pieces of luggage, one not exceeding
62 inches as the of its dimensions and a total of not more
than 106 inches for both pieces to and from USA. For internal
flights in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka a maximum of two pieces
of luggage is allowed per person not exceeding 44 ibs. The
baggage is at owner’s risk and as such baggage insurance
is recommended.
TRAVEL
DOCUMENTS AND HEALTH: A valid passport. At present
U.S./Canadian citizens require visa for India, and Nepal.
Presently smallpox and cholera shots are not required but
here again we recommend the same. Please consult your physician
for additional inoculations
TRANSFERS:
From airports to hotels on arrival and vice-versa on departure
by motorcoach/minivan/private car depending on group size
.
HOTEL
ACCOMMODATIONS: Accommodations will be provided
at hotels listed or similar on the basis of twin bedded
air-conditioned room with private bath or shower.
SINGLE
ROOMS:Single room accommodations are available
at a supplemental cost. Every effort will be made to provide
share accommodations when requested. On occasions when it
is not possible to provide sharing accommodation single
room supplement will apply.
MEALS:
All meals are included on board Palace on Wheels, in Tibet,
Wildlife Sanctuaries, Ladakh, Kashmir, Bhutan, Sikkim and
while on trek. On all other places two meals a day American
Breakfast and Dinner on Table d’hote basis are included.
(On MINI TOURS no meals are included and these tour depart
daily based on deluxe class or first class hotels.)
SIGHTSEEING
& EXCURSIONS:All sightseeing and excursions
as indicated in the itinerary include admission fees, and
will be carried out by motor- coaches, automobiles or other
conveyance in accordance with local conditions and the size
of the tour groups. In all the cases the rates quoted include
the service of local English speaking guides in each city.
GUARANTEED
OPERATIONS: The tour is guaranteed to operate on
a basis of 4 or more passengers without any increase in
the price of the tour.
TOUR
ESCORT: An English speaking Tour Escort will accompany
for a group of 10 persons or more. Smaller groups will have
services of local Tour Escorts in each city.
NOT
INCLUDED: Passport and visa fees, airports taxes,
baggage and flight insurance, beverages and meals not provided
as a part of the tour arrangements and items of a personal
nature such as telephone, laundry, excess baggage, special
meals, etc.
INSURANCE:
Rama Tours is not responsible or liable for loss,
damage, theft of luggage and/or personal belongings, or
of personal injury, accidents and/or illness. For your protection,
it is important that you have, or purchase, adequate insurance
to cover these eventualities. For insurance please contact
your travel agent or us.
HOW
TO BOOK YOUR RAMA TOURS: A deposit of $ 500.00
per person is
required at the time of booking to confirm reservations
on the tour. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start
of the tour.
CANCELLATION
/ REFUND OF LAND ARRANGEMENTS: All cancellation
and refund requests must be made in writing definitely.
Confirmed bookings are subject to U.S. $ 100.00 per person
as administrative fee. For cancellations received prior
to 60 days U.S. $ 300.00 per person; if received between
60 and 30 days prior U.S. $ 400.00 per person; if received
between 30 and 15 days prior U.S. $ 500.00 per person; if
received between 14 to 7 days prior U.S. $ 600.00 per person
; thereafter 100% land cost will be forfeited. For itin-
eraries including Palace on Wheels, Wildlife, Bhutan and
trekking, etc., there will be 50% cancellation charges if
received between 60 and 30 days and thereafter 100%.
CLIMATE:
The climate in India varies greatly over it’s large
area but may be generally described as sub-tropical. October
through April is the best time to visit India. The months
of May through the middle of July are hot, but air-con-
ditioned hotels make stays comfortable. The monsoon brings
rains from June through September to all of the country
except South India where it rains pri- marily in winter.
Late spring , early summer and fall are prime times for
visit- ing Kashmir, Darjeeling and other mountain resorts
in the north, south and east. The best time to visit India
is between October and March when the climate is bracing,
the skies are blue and the sun is warm in its welcome.
VOUCHER:
On receipt of full payment, a voucher will sent for redemption
in India for specified services.
TARIFF
AND EXCHANGE FLUCTUATIONS: All prices herein quoted
are in U.S. dollars and based on tariffs and exchange levels
in effect on October 1, 2002. Rates are subject to change
adjustment in the event of any marked changes in these tariffs
and exchange levels.
ELECTRIC
CURRENT: Voltage in most places is 220 AC, 50 cycles.
A few areas, however have DC supply.
RELEGION:
Most Indians are Hindus, while Muslims are the largest minority.
There are also a good number of Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists,
Jains, Zoroatrains(Parsees) and Jews.
RESPONSIBILITY:
RAMA TOURS, Illinois, and its associated agents, here- in
after referred to as Operator, act only as agent for the
owners or contractors providing means of transportation,
other services and all tickets are issued subject to any
and all terms and conditions under such means of transportation
or other services are offered or provided. The issuance
and acceptance of such tickets shall be deemed to be consent
to the further condition that the participating travel agent
and/or Operator shall not be or become liable or responsible
in any way in connection with such means of transportation
or other services, for any loss, injury or damage to or
in respect of any person or property howsoever caused or
arising. Should any circumstances make it desirable or necessary
to change or cancel the travel plan or program such changes
or cancellation may be made. Additional expenses, if any
caused thereby, shall be borne by the passenger. Cost of
land arrangements and air transportation are based on tariffs
in effect October01, 2003. We reserve the right to alter
the quoted costs in the event of any marked increase or
decrease in foreign currency tariff changes or for any other
reason without prior notice. Although the owners or contractors
providing means of transportation or other service will
take all possible care of passengers’ baggage or belongings
entrusted to their care, participating travel agent and/or
operator does not in any way accept responsibility in the
event of loss on injury thereto. Air India transportation
companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any
act, omission or event during the time passengers are not
on board their planes or conveyances. The passenger contract
in use by the carriers concerned , when issued, shall constitute
the sole contract between the airlines or transportation
companies and the purchaser of this tour and /or passengers.
